FIA (Facial Image Assessment) System for Anti Acne vulgaris Product Evaluation Research for Criteria of Diagnostic Approach Classification
Acne vulgaris are characterized into three types and 2 sub types as follows,
1. Acne vulgaris type 1 (Comedones)
2. Acne vulgaris type 2 (transformational stage between occurences of comedo and inflamed acne lesion which can be detected by a redness bump usually associated with itchyness)
3. Acne vulgaris type 3 (an inflamed acne lesion with white or black head)
3.1 Sub type gram positive
3.2 Sub type gram negative
All visible inflamed acne is a striking transformable disease. The different types of inflamed acne can transform from type to type with different patterns, varying from person to person at different time such as:
Type 3 lesion is always transformed from type 2 and, at a different rate, they may retransform back into insidious condition of type 1 lesion. The fastest rate of this gram positive lesion retransformation is 2 weeks. The retransformation appears at the same site at anytime. These incidences result in the over and under effectiveness of the research outcome, respectively.
For a reliable research data, tracking each individual lesion from the beginning to the end is mandatory. This is where the FIA System plays a crucial role.
The FIA System incorporates an innovative technique which will MARK, MAP, TRACK and COUNT the visible images of acne lesion automatically.
The FIA automation greatly override the human error concerning counting and data updating which requires correction for each image collection, providing great accuracy and convenience.
The imagery technique and data collection also make it possible to differentiate between type 2 and type 3 lesions
